Steel Cabins are designed as a Secure Steel Anti-Vandal Cabin, ideal for use where security is important. The Steel external shell is available in 2 different corrugated finishes or a "Flat Sided" external finish for a small additional cost.

Our Steel Cabins are made to order in any size, layout or specification to suit your individual needs and requirements. Sizes range from 4ft to 13ft wide and from 6ft to 48ft long. Technical details, example layout drawings and example prices are detailed below.

Design
The “Steel Cabins” Range of Secure Steel Anti-Vandal units are fully finished buildings that are factory built and delivered to site providing a completed building ready for immediate occupation.

Each are designed and manufactured to a high standard and can be linked or double stacked to suit individual site or client’s requirements.

Structurally designed with reference to the following standards:
• BS449 Part 2 Structural Use of Steelwork in Building
• BS5268 Part 2 Structural Use of Timber
• CP3 Chap V Part 2 Wind Loads
• BS6399 Part 1 1984 Design Loads for Buildings

Manufactured under strict factory conditions and welded in accordance with BS 5135 : 1984 Process of arc welding of carbon and carbon manganese steels.

External Walls
The external steel walls are manufactured from HR4 1.6mm mild steel panels with a flat or profiled finish. Painted with a one coat anti-corrosive high build mid gloss paint finish, to the client’s choice of colour, which achieves a class ‘0’ spread of flame.

Internal Walls
12.5mm Vinyl faced plasterboard (white), jointed by means of 2 part PVC ‘H’ section trims, fixed to 45x35mm timber studs, giving a class ‘0’ spread of flame rating to BS1230. 60mm glass fibre insulation will be fitted within the wall cavity. (Alternative linings and insulation are optional).

Roof
Roof constructed 1.6mm HR4 mild steel panels supported by 75mm x 50mm x 3mm roof spars with a perimeter ‘J’ section gutter of 3mm mild steel with paint finish. Softwood ceiling joists infilled with 60mm glass fibre insulation, underdrawn with vinyl faced plasterboard (white) and jointed by means of PVC ‘H’ section trims.

Vinyl faced plasterboard provides a class 0 spread of flame rating to BS1230.

Corner lift/locate points to roof / slotted base plates to floor.
Optional jacklegs can be supplied if required.

Floors
15mm exterior grade plywood decking screwed to 100 x 50 x 3mm RHS Floor Joists (BS EN 10025 : S275), corner base floor plates slotted. Finished with a 2mm Vinyl Polyfloor XL (Graphite) with fully welded seams.

Windows
914 x 914mm aluminium framed single glazed sliding windows (with 4mm clear glazing) and fitted into Kirncroft steel window shutters. 600 x 300mm high level windows fully opening aluminium framed, single glazed 4mm obscure, fitted externally with box type mesh guards.

*Alternative sizes, double glazed UPVC and other window types are available as optional upgrades.

Doors
Kirncroft multi-point locking insulated steel door and frame 910 x 2065mm. Other Kirncroft sizes and types available as optional upgrades.

*Fabricated double doors fitted to Storage Containers, which are fitted with 2no. 5 lever deadlocks (keyed alike).

Electrical Installation
• Power is provided via 13 amp twin switched socket outlets.
• Lighting is provided via fluorescent fittings with moisture resistant fittings in wet areas.
• Heating is provided via 2kw wall mounted convector heaters thermostatically and individually controlled from fused spurs.
• The whole installation is fitted with RCD & MCB protection from the Mains Distribution Board which is fitted at high level adjacent to the door and fully complies with the current IEE Regulations.
